A Casualty of Christmas Chew

"A Casualty of Christmas Chew"
8x8
Oil on Gessoboard
To Purchase
It feels like it's been forever since I last posted.   After a month busy with Birthday boy's celebration, being sick with the flu for 2 weeks and generally down for the count, I feel like I'm finally back to enjoying myself in the studio again.

Picking some familiar still life subjects, seemed to do the trick.
I was happy with this set-up, looking down from above with a light coming in from the side, casting some shadows on some very colorful characters.
Don't know if the title gives it away:-)  Curious to find out if it makes sense to anyone.
If not I'll give some clues tomorrow.

Avoiding the Dishes - Day 14

8x8
Oil on Linen on Panel

Day 14 of

My good friend's husband's Dad :-) has many great collections and antiques.   We spent a girls weekend at his house and I got a few pictures of some of his marvelous collections.   This one had a favorite of mine, a brush to use for dishes, which was in the shape of a funny bird.   I got the picture of it back-lit.
I got behind on the challenge over the weekend so now I'm finally back on track and I can breathe a little more easily...and then get ready to paint more tomorrow!   I wonder how many of the participants of the challenge have had to catch up?
