Enjoying the Light

Enjoying the Light
12x12"
Oil on Linen on Panel

Being an artist I'm constantly stopped in my tracks by the beauty around me and this tractor was an example of that!   I was whizzing by with my painting friend Daggi, on our way to paint at the San Antonio Mission De Padua up in Central California earlier this year and I just loved the way the light hit this old tractor left in the field so - I just had to stop.   Luckily Daggi didn't mind.   It speaks of many years of loyal hard work and...maybe it's because I'm aging myself...lol...I appreciate the way the sun celebrated the charm of an aging machine!  It just touched me on many levels:-)
This painting is available for purchase and ready to frame through the link above.

Happy Tail

6x6
Oil on hardboard
SOLD

This was painted on a surface that I'm really enjoying.   A very slick gessoed hardboard that takes the paint differently than both canvas and regular gessoboard.  It let's me push the paint around, which is a lot of fun.   And of course I love an opportunity to paint a back-lit scene, this one of our happy mutt Theo!

Super Sam - Day 12

6x6
oil on linen on panel

Day 12 of
30 Paintings in 30 Days

So I'm a little behind and I'm hoping I'll catch up tomorrow when I go painting outdoors.   I did have a lot of fun finishing this little quick study of a little super hero. Even though I used a photo I felt like I kept it pretty loose and simple.   Painting on linen was a nice treat as well.
I'm entering it for the January Bold brush Competition as well.   Just a little experiment.  If you like it and go to my FB page...it might make a difference!
Thank you and Happy Painting!
